Johnson realized the high potential strength of Carbon Fiber. While in 1960, the Japanese developed a new chemical process that is still use today. It was first developed by Roger Bacon in 1958 by heating rayon strands. Carbon fiber is a filament of carbon with a typical thickness of 1/10th of a human hair (5-10 micrometers).
